For the past 16 years, The High Heel Drag Race has been an all-inclusive event, representing the diversity and acceptance of all that is indigenous to New Hope. This year’s High Heel Drag Race will be held on October 27th, 2019 at 4:30 pm. All participants are dressed in costumes and wearing 3” (or taller) high heels. Runners carry a pumpkin up the hill on W. Mechanic Street, decorate the pumpkin, and race back down the hill.
“We invite the crowd to wear costumes, dance and have fun! It’s always an exciting time and we look forward to seeing everyone,” said Elisa Fusco, Race Coordinator.
Directly after the race, we continue the festivities with a lively fall-themed after-party hosted by Havana at 105 South Main Street from 6:30 pm. There is an awards ceremony, Live DJ, light bites and a cash bar, a $5 suggested donation at the door. Meet Sapphira Cristal – Miss NHC 2019 and all the fabulous drag kings and queens. The winners of the race will be announced and prizes awarded at 7:30 pm.
Join us on Sunday, October 27 on W. Mechanic St. in New Hope. Participants must register online starting September 18th. A $25 non-refundable registration fee is required in advance and is limited to the first fifteen people. Participant registration and official rules will launch on September 18th. All proceeds from the race benefit New Hope Celebrates.
Race Participants should arrive at 4:15 pm to check-in. Whether you are participating or cheering the crowd on, it’s always a great time! This is a rain or shine event.
