One of the key responsibilities that come with the title of Miss New Hope Celebrates is to represent NHC throughout the year at our annual Pridefest in May, the High Heel Drag Race in October, and other events produced by the NHC team.
Thank you to Miss New Hope Celebrates 2018, Ginger Alley, for an amazing reign! You definitely “brought it”! You are truly a Queen! Community events like these, and the many other events that New Hope Celebrates brings throughout the year, are not possible without the help of our many volunteers, businesses, and organizations that support us, including each and every one of you here tonight. Thank you.
We also couldn’t do it without the many that have come before us and helped pave the way. One of the many was New Hope Icon, Ricky Crosby. Ricky played a major role in bringing the pageantry scene to New Hope. For many years he was the promoter for the Miss Gay Pennsylvania USofA Pageant where he brought national recognition and many awards to our wonderful little town.
Our pageants are modeled after the great shows that he produced. Ricky’s love for pageantry was a big part of his life, topped only by his love for this community and his unparalleled (and usually inappropriate) sense of humor. He made a lasting impression on everyone that he met, and he always had them coming back for more. Ricky left this world on October 21, 2018, and joined the amazing cast of characters who went before him. These are the ones that gave us and continue to give us, New Hope.
