Keeping A New Hope Tradition Alive Over the past 15 years, the annual High Heel Drag Race has been the highlight of the October fall season in New Hope. Originally hosted by the local Chamber of Commerce, the event was passed to NHC in 2015. It seemed to be a perfect fit, “We are grateful to keep this long-standing tradition alive” said Matt Hanson, NHC President.
The High Heel Race is an all-inclusive event, which represents our communities’ diverse and accepting culture. Everyone in the race, male and female participants alike, will wear high heels as they each carry a pumpkin up the hill where they will decorate it and return down Mechanic Street in New Hope.
This year the NHC team has really stepped up to continue one of New Hope’s most popular and fun-filled fall events, which heralds in the OUT in October Fall events celebration. Thanks to the efforts of Elisa Fusco, Event Director, Gordon Pulaski, and the entire NHC Board, for their support and hard work. Whether you participate or are a cheerleader in the crowd, it’s always a great time.
