The Friends of the Free Library of New Hope & Solebury (FOL) and New Hope Celebrates (NHC) will celebrate the publication of their new book, An Enlightened Community: 20th Century LGBT Stories of New Hope, Pennsylvania at The Cub Room of the New Hope Lodge on Tuesday June 25th from 6 – 8 pm. This free event includes light bites and a cash bar.
An Enlightened Community is a compilation of stories and photos from over 75 donors who share memories that are sometimes poignant, funny, or simply delightful peeks back at a slice of New Hope’s history.
The book is the third publication for the FOL and the first for NHC. It is a joint fundraising effort that highlights cooperation between the New Hope nonprofit organizations and the unique nature of the borough. Proceeds from sales of the book will directly benefit the two organizations’ work in the community.
Some of the donors will be on hand to sign copies of the book. This is an open invitation and an opportunity for the public to celebrate the contributors and to have their own personal copy signed by some of the authors on hand.
Books will be available for purchase at the event for $20 cash or can be reserved in advance online at https://www.newhopecelebrates.com/book/
