May 16th – Also featuring Christine Martucci, Josh Zuckerman, Eryn Woods, Jason Walker
NEW HOPE, PA, FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – New Hope Celebrates is proud to announce the headliner for our 2015 Block Party – Antigone Rising. They will appear on the outdoor stage at The Bucks County Playhouse on Saturday May 16th along with other entertainers Jason Walker, Eryn Woods, Josh Zuckerman and Christie Martucci.
No one can deny the momentum behind Antigone Rising! Known for their unique & electrifying live performances featuring toe-tapping beats and powerful vocals, Antigone Rising is not just good; they are insanely good and best experienced live. Since releasing “Whiskey & Wine – Volume 1” on iTunes and the band’s official website last year, the band has not only kept busy with a non-stop touring schedule but as well with long studio hours to complete the highly anticipated Volume Two of the double EP project.
Antigone Rising have toured with such A-listers as Aerosmith and The Rolling Stones; were appointed as cultural ambassadors by the United States government to tour Israel and the Middle East; and have also played a part in LGBTQ advocacy, making news when Kristin Ellis-Henderson appeared on the cover of Time Magazine with wife Sarah Kate Ellis-Henderson (president/CEO of GLAAD) for a feature on marriage equality.
Christine Martucci is renowned for her soulful tenacity, kind-hearted interaction and emotional songwriting, pulling heart strings and opening minds all across the country. The New Jersey-based, nationally touring star picks up new devotees – the Tucci train – wherever she goes on the strength of her ardent songwriting and performances in the vein of Melissa Etheridge and Janis Joplin. Josh Zuckerman is a high-spirited and energetic performer, singer, songwriter and recording artist expanding his musical horizons with every original song he composes and records. With guitar, violin or full band, his music is an infectious mix of rock, alternative and pop, along with soothing ballads, all electrified with a powerful message of love and self-acceptance. Performing at a variety of PRIDE Festivals across the map, has made the hyper-ambitious Woods somewhat of a global ambassador for tolerance and positive change. With her unique style and youthful voice, singer Eryn Woods is ready to dominate the world with her eclectic brand of pop punk. Out Music Award winner Jason Walker mixes soul, disco and a generous dose of electro savvy to create his explosive re-imagining of Taylor Dayne’s pop classic, Tell It To My Heart.
The day will kick off with the annual pride parade which will start in Lambertville before crossing the bridge and travelling down Main Street in New Hope. Watch the parade from excellent viewing points at The Lambertville House, The New Hope Lambertville Bridge, Karla’s, John & Peter’s, Havana and Fran’s Pub!
