industry as President of Claro Talent, a company licensed through
the Screen Actors Guild, the Federation of Television and Radio
Artists, Actors Equity Association and the Department of Labor
and Industry. In association with renowned casting directors, her
agency has placed thousands of actors from all of the major markets
including New York, Philadelphia, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
JUMPING IN - LEARNING HOW TO PRODUCE

Learn how to take a project from an idea, to a pitch, to distributing
the finished film.
Topics include budgeting, scheduling, acquisition,
management, equipment, crewing and locations.
Instructor - CRAFT ABBOTTS
Emmy Award winner Craft Abbotts
has worked in all areas of film, television and interactive design.
For New Jersey public television, Abbotts produced the “Travel Show,” co-wrote segments
with the show’s talent and directed field spots. He is currently
producing, writing and directing an underwater documentary entitled “Wakatobi:
The Reef That Time Forgot”
on location in Wakatobi (South
East Sulawesi), Indonesia. In early spring 2008, he begins principle
photography for
“Embraceable You,”
filmed in New Hope,
Pennsylvania.
THE GOAL - LEARNING POST-PRODUCTION

From editing to transferring, learning post-production techniques
and vocabulary is pivotal.
Topics include film transfer, color
corrections, dailies, digital intermediates, motion graphic design,
visual effects,
compositing, animation, sound design, mixing, as
well as SD, HD, 2K, PAK, 35mm and 16mm.
Instructor – ANDY WILLIAMS
Andy Williams works for Shooters
Post & Transfer, one of
the East Coast’s top digital production and post-production
facilities. Based in the former Saturday Evening Post space
in Philadelphia, Shooters handles film transfer, editing services,
digital audio, graphic design, standard- and high-definition formats
and 35mm and 16mm shooting. On television, their work can be seen
on the WB’s “Supernatural,” as well as the former
Philly-based show “Hack.” Their commercial production
work includes Goldenberg’s Peanut Chews, Puma, Bongo Jeans,
Mattel, PETA, Minwax, Napa Autocare Centers, Xerox, among many
others.
Film credits include “Monsters Ball” and “The
Woodsman.”
SCORING THE RIGHT NOTE - UNDERSTANDING
MUSICAL COMPOSTION

Without the proper underscore your film falls
flat. Topics include composition, finding the right musical emotion,
when to use music and when to avoid it, as well as the differences
between public domain rights and copyrighted material.

Bill Jolly is a four-time
Emmy Award winner for music composition. His work has be used
in innumerable television programs, commercials and films including
MTV, VH-1, Showtime, HBO, McDonald’s,
BET, Coca-Cola, PBS, Hershey, “Days of Our Lives,” “Melrose
Place” and Columbia Tri-Star Pictures. Jolly has worked with
such talent as Celine Dion, Usher, Stevie Wonder, Teddy Pendergrass,
Michael Bolton and Grover Washington Jr.
NO ACTING PLEASE! - ACTING FOR FILM
(Workshop
27B. Sunday, April 27 at 2:00 p.m.)
This challenging and daring
workshop is designed to give the actor a well rounded understanding
of the art of acting on film.
Topics include creative process,
given situation of the script, analysis in finding the subtext
of the character,
the screenwriter’s
intention, working with the director, emotional communication and
reaching truth and belief.
Instructor- STEPHEN STAHL
In 2006-07 Stephen Stahl
won Best Director of a Feature Film in New York City at the International
Independent Film and Video Festival for the movie “Consequences.” At the same
festival in Los Angles, the film also won Best Thriller. Re-titled “Playroom,” the
film is now distributed through TLA. Achieving an Olivier nomination,
a Bay Critics Award and a National Drama Award, Stahl has over
150 productions under his belt. He has worked with such industry
greats as Patti LaBelle, Sandy Duncan, Patty Hearst, Jason Bateman,
Phyllis Hyman, Mink Stole, Divine, Peggy King, Bobbie Rydel, James
Ingram, Hattie Winston, Evander Holyfield, Hall & Oates, Charles
Strouse, Maury Povich, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Teddy Pendergrass,
Grant Shaud, Clint Holmes, Billy Joel, Tommy Femia, David Drake,
Lee Strausberg and Bill Cosby. |
