About New Hope

NEW HOPE CELEBRATES is a nonprofit organization of the retail, hospitality and professional community of New Hope, Pennsylvania. NHC serves the diverse GLBT populace through marketing opportunities, educational experiences and events culminating with the annual pride celebration. Proceeds flow back to the community via variuos selected charities

Offering something for everybody, NHC hosts an ambitious pride weekend each May featuring nationally-known performers, an information expo, DJ dance parties, softball games, children's activities and a Pride Parade.
THE 5th ANNUAL NHC PRIDE WEEKEND IS MAY 16-18, 2008. NHC also plans to host its first GLBT film festival in 2008


Set along the banks of the scenic Delaware River, New Hope offers inique shopping; theater; historic barge, train and horse-drawn carriage rides; museums, art galleries and antique shops; fine restaurants and casual fare.
Home of the famed Bucks County Playhouse (where stars like Liza Minelli, Grace Kelly and Robert Redford launched their careers!) and the historic cabaret Odettes, New Hope's nightlife is filled with live entertainment spots, dance clubs and piano bars where paople of all genders and cultures mingle and mix with common respect and acceptance.
 
   
NHC raises money for important charitable organizations such as the Human Rights Campaign, Fighting AIDS Continuously Together (FACT Bucks County) and the Rainbow Room, a youth center of Planned Parenthood Association of Bucks County.
Nearly $50,000 in charitable funds have been donated by NHC as of Fall 2007.

NHC raises money for important charitable organizations...
These recipients were chosen from a group of over 35 applications.  Our Grant Committee, along with assistance from The Delaware Valley Legacy Fund, screened the applications, which were based and rated on certain LGBTA criteria  & community involvement.  The list of applicants were exceptional & all of them had great merit In their ability to provide services to the community.  Organizations were awarded the Grants based on current & potential service to the New Hope & surrounding areas and we are PROUD to be able to have them as part of our Celebration.  Please visit their Web Sites & see the much needed services that they perform for the communities that they work with.  By your participation in our events, New Hope Celebrates will be able to annually offer, community-based organizations, future Grants.  ALSO visit our web site periodically for upcoming events that will give our LGBTA Community & Friends QUALITY PROGRAMS throughout the year.

  The William Way Community Center seeks to encourage, support, and advocate for the well-being and acceptance of sexual and gender minorities through service, recreational, educational, and cultural programming.                    

PHILADELPHIA FIGHT    www.fight.org 
Philadelphia FIGHT is a comprehensive AIDS service organization providing primary care, consumer education, advocacy and research on potential treatments and vaccines. FIGHT was formed as a partnership of individuals living with HIV/AIDS and clinicians, who joined together to improve the lives of people living with the disease.

F.A.C.T. (Fighting Aids Continuously Together) Bucks county is an all volunteer, non-profit organization with one purpose in mind - to maintain the quality of life for those infected and affected by HIV and AIDS.

New Hope Celebrates (NHC) CONTINUES TO SUPPORT Planned Parenthood's
RAINBOW ROOM YOUTH GROUP as an ongoing project.  With all the combined and dedicated work from NHC and The Rainbow Room with this year's Sing Out Loud & Proud event during PRIDE 2008 on May 17th, The Rainbow Room is anticipated to have a great turn out and allow for additional funding to this great LGBTQA youth group.  See more event information on Sing out Loud & Proud in this web site and also visit  www.ppbucks.org/rainbowRoom.htm
[The Rainbow Room is the only center in the Bucks County region for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, queer and allied youth (LGBTQA). With combined leadership by area youth and Planned Parenthood Association of Bucks County's Education and Training Department, the Rainbow Room is a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for LGBTQA youth ages 14 to 21. At the Rainbow Room, youth can be themselves and experience the freedom of knowing they are accepted totally and without reservation.]
